Apex Surgicentre

Increasing access to cost effective quality health care.
Apex Surgi Centre grew from a burning desire to find a solution to cost effective, quality, surgical services. This came about after a number of encounters with private (cash paying) patients who wanted to have minor surgical procedures done at a private hospital.

How it works.

Our OBJECTIVE and MISSION is to increase access to private surgical care. Simply by being a Day Hospital, which means there are no costs related to overnight stay and other attendant costs to being in an Acute hospital, the patient only pays for the procedure.

This means that a lot of the procedures can also be affordable to cash paying patients. Being a planned procedure also means that one can save for the procedure with a view to paying out of pocket for it after consulting with their doctor or seeing one of the specialists we have on our team.

Working with us, our doctors enjoy a partnership that provides an efficient extension to their offices for cost-effective alternatives, and time-saving features that augment today’s medical practice.

We believe that specialists and patients choose us because they want a seamless experience from booking to discharge.

Our Theatres

Apex Surgi Centre is a modern state of the art facility that is readily visible from the Chris Hani road as a 2 story white and grey building in between the Engen garage and Midas just past the Virgin Active at Maponya mall. The entrance to the facility is at the Engen garage traffic light.

Frequently asked questions

Bookings for your procedure will be done by your surgeon. Please confirm day and time of your arrival with their office and our reception.

If you are a private (Cash) paying patient, you will be expected to settle the bill prior to or on the day of the procedure. For medical aid patients, you will be notified of any co-pays expected by your medical aid. These are uncommon at Day Hospitals where the hospital is a preferred provider or belongs to a network that is aligned to your medical aid.

A Pre-op Nurse will call you prior to your surgery to collect information about your health to expedite your admission process.

A scheduler will call you two days before your surgery, to give you the arrival time as well as the balance due on the day of surgery, if any.

It is important for you to follow these guidelines before surgery to prevent delay or cancellations.
